We did the strategy, created the name, visual language and designed the app. The app is the hub that connects you to your scooter. We shaped the experience based on getting you from a to b to c, with the city at your fingertips.

The founders asked Resoluut to create a brand identity from scratch. They only had an idea of a company that delivers dockless last-mile transport — the rest was up to us. We wanted to create a brand that would position Dott as a serious transportation company. Dott is about riding through your vibrant city, going from A to B to C. This is the basis of the name, visual identity and app we designed.

When you use Dott, you’re moving from one dot to the next, following dotted lines on a map. The name Dott is based on this journey. Since it’s a new startup, we used a word mark for its logo — incorporating the brand name into the logo makes it instantly recognizable. And the logo is part of the bigger brand identity system we designed.

An identity based on the journey from A to B to C. Based on the line and corners, we created a visual system that is seen in all touchpoints, starting with the scooter itself.

Start your ride using the Dott app. The UX and visual design make sure that you can start riding in seconds. You’ll recognize the brand system in even the smallest details, like icons. And with our unique illustrations, we show the user how to use the scooter in a fun way.

We wanted to design a scooter that feels as vibrant as the city. Having just one design wasn’t going to cut it. So we designed four color combinations, which represent diversity of the brand and the people who use it.
